This is a handmade lino print. What started as a class project of a painting in my fiancé's Japanese style has evolved into a large print. The waves, rain and moon create a great contrast in darkness/light, but also in flow/straight lines. With many different gouging techniques, this print shows the year of The Rabbit. This year symbolises long life, peace and prosperity. The year is also associated with a calm, gentle contemplative energy.
Printed with black water-based ink and a red hand-gouged stamp with my “555” logo. This is a limited edition of 25 pieces. Each print is signed and numbered.

Print method
This design was gouged with blades from an A2 lioleum. Printed by hand in which a hand press was used for larger work.

Printed on Van Beek paper, 120 gsm, a little offwhite, wood and acid-free paper
Ink
Water-based inks: Black Ivory and Vermillion Red
Each print is made by hand. The designs are gouged on linoleum blocks. The prints are therefore all unique. Colour and details may vary slightly. The prints and paper may have imperfections, including misalignment in prints with multiple colour layers. These variations contribute to the unique individual charm and character of this printing technique.
