About me

My name is Kelsey van Leeuwen, I am a mother, tattoo artist and recently a printmaker from Amsterdam, Dutch.

Drawing has always been a hobby of mine since I was very small. I would get into my "zone" at a very young age and I learnt that it was my safe place of creating in my own bubble.

I started tattooing in 2015 and as a single mother, it was quite difficult to divide my time and invest in my new passion as an apprentice. But the longer I was busy as an apprentice and my son went to school, I came to realise that it was what I had always been meant to do. Now 10 years later, with my entire family and my private studio, I am very grateful that I started this adventure.

This year, I decided to make more space for lino prints. I felt very inspired and with each new print, I see myself and my art growing. Printmaking and tattooing are very different and yet also similar. They teach me to be patient, creative and gentle, while also giving me.
