From digital design to handmade art - the process of lino printing

Each linoprint starts as a digital design on the iPad, but only really takes on character when it comes to life by hand. The design is mirrored, printed to size and transferred onto a linoleum or vinyl block. With the same precision as tattooing, I carefully cut out the design with gouge knives - line by line, shape by shape.

Then comes the magic of printing: the ink is applied with a roller, the paper carefully placed, and with pressure, the first print is created. No two prints are exactly the same - each one carries its own little imperfections and unique charm.

Some designs I print in a limited edition, numbered and hand-signed. This way, each lino print remains a personal and authentic work of art - made with love and attention, from sketch to paper.
